This is one of my works for another site, which, was recieved well by the person who critiqued it. However, due to the size of the site, it is still waiting(after a month) to get a second greenlight, so I decided to move it over here. Taiwan is part of China in this universe by 2120. I'm trying to develop a story for that as well!
Taiwan is an independent country… or part of China.
It's worth mentioning this; Diplomatically speaking, today Taiwan is legally referred to as the Republic of China and houses the post-Qing dynasty and pre-socialist government. Aka, the government that lost the Chinese Civil War to the communists in 1949. In other words, the government of Taiwan (sorta; I wouldn't say they've exactly asserted this) claims to be the legitimate government of China, which is also a title the People's Republic of China (aka the China you see on maps) also claims to be. Most UN members recognize the PRC, although many have informal relations with Taiwan. The exception to this is this little country, which doesn't recognize China or Taiwan.
